There is a small chance that I am getting obsessed with that Harrisville Shetland wool. The same season 3 blankie/shawl with a few extra stripes. Funny how much easier it is when you do a project for the second time (learning curve, I guess).

I am winding the 10 yard warp for the first project in this season. My question is about the winding onto the cloth beam of woven cloth. Usually, I stick something in to cover the knots and then just leave it alone. But with these holes, and with the fact that I plan on four different weft yarns, should I pack the cloth beam with sticks or paper ?

I didn’t use anything in my cloth beam. But….if you see it getting wonky or if it makes you feel better fill your boots. The woven sections just build up on each other like any other fabric :). This will be a good test for you. You can always add sticks or paper at any point on the cloth beam. Have fun.
