I'm about to hem 8 boucle kitchen towels and I watched the 1.10.8 video about hemming--which is a great help. At the end Jane explains that she has hemmed a boucle towel on a sewing machine with boucle. Are needles available that will take such a wide yarn? I'm so not a seamstress--this is a new idea for me. Happy New Year Janet, nice to hear from you. I think you need to rewatch that....I haven’t ever used boucle as the sewing thread in my machine. It would never handle it. Happy New Year sweetie pie :)
Hi, Janet, I live in Portland, too, and made the boucle towels and hemmed them with regular thread. The biggest takeaway I had from Jane’s video is to pin the hems really closely. It helps prevent the hem fabric from creeping when you’re sewing.
