Will the rest of season 6 be on 8-shaft or greater?
The rest of Season 6 is on 4 shafts.
Season 6 - Episode 2 - the towel designs are absolutely amazing! Jane - you are a true artist - the designs, the colors - it has my mind whirling! I am going to weave the towels and frame them on a large blank wall I have in my weaving room! Much too pretty to get dirty!!! The experience with this online guild has been amazing! Thank you so much!!!!
I love these designs too, but I have to tell you............... I created the 12 towels from Tea Towel Time with Jane, gave some as gifts to my girlfriends and one of these ladies said that is the best towel she has ever used. It dried dishes to perfection with very little effort. That pleased me and it sure should please Jane. I hope I'll get the same response with these new 8-shaft Twill block towels.
I will have to make several sets then!
Season 6 episode 2 towel #7 with tie up #4. for the nice point twill motifs I used treadles in the following order - 1324231 and this gave the same motif as seen in the samples.
Thank you for this. I was pulling out my hair trying to figure this out. Thanks.
Thank you so much! This was so helpful - I just couldn't "see" how to do it. I almost skipped this towel but your information kept me going! Debra
Thank you Jane for the PDF of Photos of all the S6E2 towels. It has been very helpful. I really appreciate it.

I'm wondering why for Season 6 Episode 2 the twill block draft includes selvedge floats, while the similar draft in Season 5 Episode 1 does not. Is the edge not being caught with the tie ups in Season 6? I just threaded the loom for the Season 5 draft and did not include floating selvedges - Kit
The Season 5 tea towels are only Turned Twill - however, Jane added layers in the Season 6 towels that include other structures that are happier having their selvedges controlled.
Season five turned twill is my first attempt at eight shaft weaving. I sure wish I had a floor loom instead of those levers. It’s on my wish list and I’m already shopping
I am working on Towel # 11. In the section where we use broken twill, that means the plain weave section with
treadle 1 and 3 have the weft in the same shed. Looking at your video , it doesn't look like you have that happening?
Hi There, that did happen on my towel too, but you can't see it once it is washed...well you can when you look up close. In the plain weave section there is 2 picks in every shed where we have plain weave threaded. Another marvel, another texture :)
Keep going and I hope you are enjoying this warp. Cheers, Jane
Thanks, Jane. I have enjoyed this episode so much. So many possibilites. I have a hard time staying away from the loom!
Awesome, I could have gone on forever on that one too. But then, I say that about all of them, LOL.
Thank you, Jane.
Thank you, Kit.
