Beautiful, Kit! Double weave is a lot of fun. :)
I remember when you learned from Jennifer Moore. Are you still doing dw?
No, I have been doing other things and (mostly in a state of debilitating despair over the state of the world).
I just got back to the loom with my hand spun to weave my coat fabric. Will update that project soon! :)
I am working on some small clutch purses that I started from Hand Woven Spring 2026-( Woolly Cocoon by Emily Barth ) a few months ago, before I became a School of Weaving student. I am self-taught over 10 years. But when these bags didn't have the right compaction of the weft, I knew I missed some fundamentals along the way. I had a similar experience with some wool rugs I wove a year or so back. Boy am I happy I invested in JS School of Weaving! While some of the information is not new to me, the DESIGN elements and education on sett, interplay of warp and weft and graphics are. I have always liked the last of my warps and never understood why. This is truer now with the last of the warps from the aforementioned bags. I am trying some clasped weft and using up some random weft left overs. I am loving applying the information from seasons 1 and 2. Today, I thought of Jane when the mail brought a summer-themed catalog from Wayfair. It was all yellow and white stripes of lounge chair with blue/green swimming pool and color, color, color! I found myself staring at it thinking, "This would be a nice towel..." I have never been confident in bright colors, but now see everything through that lens. My next project will be a baby blanket and cannot wait to start it. Thank you! I am rejuvenated.
Hi Debra, I’m so happy you are enjoying the episodes. The ones you have mentioned are definitely game changers in regards to building confidence and having the skills to bring ideas to fruition. Everything adds to these important concepts as we go forward through the seasons. I hope you find more inspiration along the way. :)
